Staying in Touch
We ask that you stay in touch with the School by ensuring that we have your up-to-date personal and professional contact details including an email address that you wish us to use when contacting you. Please do email me this information.
I am sure you will want to know exactly which Alliance MBS services and facilities are available to you and how you can benefit from using them. We will be providing you with a booklet at graduation which will fully detail the services but, in the meantime, below is a summary of what is available to you:
We will be launching a new alumni website in August and this will include an exclusive portal which will provide you with access to a number of services:
Free Online Library Resources
You will continue to have access to a select number of free online library databases.
We currently provide you with access to Mint (formerly Dash), Business Source Alumni, JStor SAGE, Key Note, Emerald Business Management, IEEE, The Sustainable Organisation Library and Henry Stewart Talks – allowing you to continue your personal development and to use the site for career research at anytime from anywhere!
These databases provide you with access to full text business and management journals, key trade magazines, academic journals, management development issues and data on over 1.5million UK private and limited companies. These resources can assist you with company research which will help with any interview preparation you may have.
Career Development Tools
We are in the process of redeveloping our careers resources on our website and over the summer I will write to you again with information about the new services available – which will include information suitable for you now, as you begin your post-MBA life, and in the future – with resources suitable right up until the time when you may begin considering non-executive director-level appointments.
Our LinkedIn group continues to thrive, we now have approximately 13,000 members and this is increasing rapidly. Again if you are not a member of this group, please join. The group is purely for Alliance MBS alumni, staff and students. Likewise please feel free to share your photos with us so we can add to our Facebook page.
If you are not already a member of the Association of MBAs (AMBA), Manchester MBA alumni are eligible for a free 2-year membership. Membership provides you with access to AMBA’s online community of international MBA students and graduates, as well as webinars, access to employers, careers management tools and much more besides.
Click here to register, by completing your personal details, then select ‘Graduate’ from the ‘I am a’ drop down and select your Business School and enter the following access key: G25912.
If you have any problems registering or require further information contact firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note that you need to register for this membership before graduation to be eligible for the 2-year membership.
You will receive a monthly eNewsletter containing the latest news from the School, as well as various communications regarding regional events and also targeted sector messages.
You will also receive by post an annual Network magazine which is sent at the same time as the University magazine.
You will be invited to join alumni events that are taking place in your region and we will bring you information on these on a regular basis. If you are living and working in the region of our International Centres, they will also be in touch with you and will be delighted to welcome you to the alumni events taking places in the Centres.
There are plenty of opportunities to network at events, however, if there are specific alumni working in a particular sector you wish to meet, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me to assist you with this.
Looking forward to seeing you at graduation and if you have any questions in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact me.
